I will be restarting the Survivor Pool again tonight (Tuesday, Sep 30th).

Survivor Pool has been restarted

Make sure you get signed back up if you want to play again. Feel free to get some friends joined up as well. Make sure you give them the invitation code you got when you first joined. If you don't have it, let me know and I will send it to you via email again.

Season 1 of the Survivor Pool ended in just two weeks, the Chargers lost their first two games and single-handedly knocked out three players from the pool. I was the only player to pick two winners.

NFL Schedule Change

Just when I get my football pool working the way I want it, a hurricane comes along and forces the NFL to change the schedule. What a pain in the butt.

The good news is, I got all of the changes into the database. Two games have been rescheduled, including one from this week. Any picks you may have made for the two rescheduled games will not change. So, the Pick Em league will not be adversely affected from this.

Hopefully none of the remaining 4 survivor players picked the Ravens or the Texans. I can't see why they would have, both those teams are terrible and the winner is a toss up. Wink

If anybody did and has not fixed their pick before the games start, then this week will just have to be a wash and it will not count.

Football Going Well

The Football Pool seems to be going well. Updates Monday went off without a hitch. I spent time manually calculating the results to make sure they were right.

Half of the Survivor field dropped the first week, mostly due to the Chargers losing their game to the Panthers. We'll see how next week goes, maybe the pool will be over quicker than expected.

The Monday Night pool saw 4 sets of picks get both games right, this week's game will be a wash, since everybody picked the same pick (the Cowboys). I had the only pick set that lost both games. So hard to pick against my Raiders, even though I know they are going to lose.

I made some updates to the pool pages, putting users' avatars in. I think it looks good and makes recognizing whose pick/score you are looking at easier. I realize some people may not want to see them though, so I added an option in the Control Panel to...

IFSO Invitation SMF mod

I finished my first simple mod for SMF. It is a registration mod that allows you to give someone an invitation code. When they register at your site, they are automatically given a membergroup. This allows you to send codes to your friends/family and when they register, they are given a specific membergroup for access.
