by TaskMaster on Yesterday at 12:11:58 amHeather and I went to the Olympic Trials in Eugene Oregon tonight. It was pretty cool, watching the young athletes that are trying to represent the United States at the Olympics.
The highlight of our night was getting to see the men's 400m final. We got to see Jeremy Wariner run, who won gold in the 2004 Olympics and is the 2005 and 2007 World Champion in the 400m and the 4x400 relay.
We also got to see Michael Johnson. I believe he holds the World record, American record, and the Olympic Record in the 400m. He handed out the medal to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the 400m.
It is quite an experience having all of these events going on at the same time. There were women's pole vaulting, men's discus, and men's high jump all going on at the same while there are track events going on. The track events were also one right after another. Never a dull moment. It was fun and I am... 44 Views | 0 Replies

by TaskMaster on June 13, 2008, 03:34:31 pmI finally got around to finishing the football pool. It is now playable. I have made it available on the Jump To menu.
It is a different kind of football pool than most people are used to playing. This one has a more competitive spirit.
Everyone can view the standings, results, etc. But...
Due to the fact that it requires collecting money from the participants, I have it set so only my friends and family can join. So, if you know me and don't have access to playing the football pool, let me know via private message, email, or personally.
Since I wrote it, if there is a feature you would like to see implemented, let me know. 224 Views | 0 Replies

by TaskMaster on May 23, 2008, 12:29:16 pmI have always been a fan of chess. Never really got into it hard core, but I do love the occasional game. So, I added a chess game to the website. You can challenge other members, change the way the pieces and board look, etc. Seems like it will be a good addition to the site. Now, I just need to find someone to play with. It can be found by clicking the Chess link in the "Jump To" menu on the left sidebar. 353 Views | 0 Replies

by TaskMaster on April 04, 2008, 03:29:10 pmWell, soccer season has begun. It is always a lot of fun, getting to watch the kids play and hanging out with friends afterwards. It is nice that our closest friends are also on the teams. But it does tend to suck away the free time. I guess it is just a compromise you have to make. Nice thing about this spring season is that the first two weeks are in Eugene and all of the rest of our games are either in Corvallis or Albany. Heather's site is at www.albanytsunami.com. Jessica's is here. Three games Saturday and one Sunday. Jessica has one Saturday and one Sunday, and Heather has two on Saturday. Sunday's game is in Albany, so no travel and not much lost time for that one. But, counting travel time, we will be in Eugene from about 9:00 to 4:00 on... 729 Views | 0 Replies
